eröffnung der skisaison 2004/2005 Kanada & USA
« am: 06.11.2004, 00:37 Uhr »
Beautiful skiing and riding conditions can be found in North America, particularly in Mammoth Mountain and Timberline where there is plenty of fresh snow and lovely sunshine. A number of American and Canadian resorts are set to open this Friday, 5 November.

USA
Some glorious skiing and riding in Mammoth (120cm) on an epic snow-base for this time of year beneath beautifully sunny skies! Mammoth received a further 50cm of snowfall in recent days and eight lifts are open. It is also sunny in Timberline (635cm), where conditions are looking good after 20cm of fresh snow just before the weekend. Some resorts held one-day teaser opening sessions this Halloween, but have shut again until the official season opening dates. The next American resorts scheduled to open are Copper Mountain and Snowbird, on Friday 5 November. After those comes Breckenridge on November the 12th, Park City on 13 November, then on 19 November Heavenly, Vail, Keystone, The Canyons and Stowe open their lifts. Crested Butte ought to open the next day, 20 November, and Aspen / Snowmass will open on 25 November.

Canada
Daily snowfalls are promising excellent early season conditions with Lake Louise opening this weekend (Nov 6th), and Sunshine Village the following weekend! Blackcomb Mountain is due to open on 20 November with Whistler Mountain to follow on 25 November. Sun Peaks Resort has received over 65cm of snowfall over the last few weeks, with nearly 20cm falling in the past 48 hours. The groomers are track packing alpine trails, a process whereby early snow is compacted to make a stronger base for opening on November 20. Fernie Alpine Resort is getting geared up for another great powder-filled season, with opening date scheduled for Dec.10th.
