The official federal recreation lands photo contest, Share the Experience, provides an opportunity for amateur photographers to submit photos of the great outdoors on federal lands:

  National Park Service
  U.S. Bureau of Land Management
  U.S. Bureau of Reclamation
  U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
  U.S. Forest Service

The five submission categories include "Adventure and Outdoor Recreation," "Historical and Cultural," "Scenics, Seasons, and Landscapes," "Wildlife," and "Let's Move Outside!" Entries will be accepted through December 31. View the weekly winners and learn how to enter:

Employees of the participating agencies and sponsors and their family members are not eligible to win prizes. You are allowed to upload photos, but must check the box identifying that you are an employee.
Individuals who derive 20% or more of their income from photography."
