Heute Abend gingen die alljährlichen Country Music Awards über die Bühne
Und ein Name stand heraus unter all den Gewinnern - Johnny Cash - ein Name, der für viele als Botschafter und Synonym für die USA stand, wie die Freiheitsstatue oder ein Stetson.
Johnny Cash wurde heute mit den Awards für Best Album of the Year' für 'American IV: The Man Comes Around' und 'Single of the Year' & 'Video of the Year' für 'Hurt' ausgezeichnet.
Ich kann mich noch gut daran erinnern, daß ich vor über 20 Jahren meine erste Johnny Cash-LP geschenkt bekam.
Ich denke, auch wenn man kein Coutry-Musik-Fan ist, wird man verstehen können, warum dieser Mann über Jahrzehnte Millionen begeisterte und Ihnen aus der Seele sprach. Man lese einfach als Beispiel den Text eines seiner letzten Lieder:
