Fliege morgen nach LAX und werde am Freitag 19.08. nach Las Vegas aufbrechen, wo ich dienstlich am 22.08. abends ankommen muss. Hat jemand einen Vorschlag für eine Rodeo-Veranstaltung auf dem Weg dorthin oder mit akzeptablem Umweg per Auto; habe noch nie eine besucht obwohl ich schon dutzende Mal in den USA war!

da faellt mir doch sofort das weltbekannte Rodeo in Tehachapi, CA ein. IMHO, ideal fuer Deine Beduerfnisse, sowohl was Ort als auch was Zeit angeht. Also, wer koennte da widerstehen?

August 20th & 21st PRCA Rodeo  
  It's Rodeo Time! Come and celebrate the western heritage of the Tehachapi area at the 42nd Annual Tehachapi Mountain PRCA Rodeo on August 20-21, 2005. Join the excitement at the Tehachapi Rodeo Grounds on Dennison Road as the award winning stock from the Growney Brothers Rodeo Company is matched with some of the finest cowboys and cowgirls in the California Circuit.

Families will thrill to the excitement that only a day at the rodeo brings. From the high-flying thrills of saddlebronc and bareback riding to tie down roping, team roping, steer wrestling, barrelracing and the anticipation of watching a cowboy climb onto the back of 2,000 pounds of twisting, angry attitude during the bull riding, the Tehachapi Mountain PRCA Rodeo has it all.
The festivities on Saturday, August 20 begin at 5:00 pm with the grand entry, the rodeo queen coronation and the thrills and chills of PRCA Rodeo. On Sunday, families can enjoy the annual cowboy church service at 11:00 am at the rodeo grounds and come back at 4:00 pm for more rodeo action.

Tickets will be available at a discounted rate at Albertson’s in Tehachapi, The Emporium Western Store in Bakersfield and The Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce. Presale ticket prices are $12 for adults and $10 for children 8-12 and seniors 55 and over. Children 7 and under are admitted free with a paid adult.

Tickets will be on sale at the gate both days. Gate prices are $14 for adults and $12 for children and seniors.
