US Airways to Merge With America West
US Airways and America West have announced a merger agreement that "offers a huge break to US Airways and potentially carries big risks for America West" reports The Wall Street Journal. The $1.5 billion deal would create the nation's largest budget airline with service throughout the USA and overseas. The airline would operate under the US Airways name. US Airways would move its headquarters from the Washington DC area to Tempe, Arizona, the home of America West.
