Washington State Tour - machbar?

Hallo zusammen.

Mein Mann und ich planen gerade die Details unserer Washington State Rundreise (Mitte bis Ende August 2009) und ich würde mich über eure Komentare sehr freuen... es würde sehr schade sein, wenn wir uns extrem verplanen. Ist unser erster USA Urlaub mit campen und Mietwagen.

Also ist ist der Plan soweit, sorry ist in English (da mein Mann Engländer ist) . Hoffe das ist ok?!

Winthrop: Stop at Forest Service Ranger Station where you can pick up a CD featuring historical and interpretive driving information about the North Cascades. Make sure to get trail, picnic and scenic view point information as well. Keep in mind that it’s nearly 90 miles to the next service station.

Also nach der Route seid ihr anschliessend hier im Forum die North Cascades Experten.
Ihr nehmt Euch da sehr viel Zeit diese Gegend in Ruhe anzusehen. Wenn Ihr Spass am Wandern habt ist das gerade Ende August, wenn die meisten Trails schneefrei sind sicher eine tolle Ecke viel Zeit in den Bergen zu verbringen.
Trotzdem wuerde ich doch noch mal gucken, ob Ihr den Teil in den Kaskaden nicht noch um einen Tag straffen koennt und mit dem gewonnenen Tag von Olympia aus eine Tagestour zum Mt.St.Helens macht. Den wuerde ich bei einer Washington Rundreise nicht verpassen wollen.

Habe erstmal bei google angefragt, was den der Pacific Coast Scenic Byway in Washington ueberhaupt ist, um dann festzustellen, dass es in der Hauptsache der Highway 101 um die Olympic Peninsula ist, den ich vor knapp 2 Monaten gefahren bin. Vielleicht gibt Dir also mein Reisebericht (http://forum.usa-reise.de/index.php?topic=40304.0) hier im Forum ein paar Anregungen zur Routenplanung fuer diese Ecke.
