Sea World Ohio is no more.
On January 10, 2001, Victor G. Abbey, chairman and president of Busch Entertainment Corporation (BEC) announced the sale of SeaWorld Ohio to Six Flags Inc. The whales, dolphins, and penguins were moved to other Sea World parks, including Discovery Cove. Six Flags keeps all the other marine mammals, fish, birds, etc. and all the shows and buildings, but not the Sea World name.
The park reopened in Spring 2001 and has been made part of the nearby Six Flags Lake Geauga theme park. The new combined park is now known as Six Flags Worlds of Adventure. Six Flags brought in dolphins from one of their other parks so they now have a dolphin show. I also saw a permit filed by Six Flags to allow them to add killer whales to their collection, so they must be trying to bring back most of the shows and exhibits familiar to visitors of the old park.

ich meine das Aurora ca. 42km südöstl. von Cleveland.
Wir fliegen im Oktober nach Chicago und beginnen dort unsere Reise. Wobei wir aber wirklich noch am Anfang unserer Planungen stehen...

« am: 08.05.2006, 13:32 Uhr »Jetzt sehe ich gerade, dass du wohl ein Aurora in Ohio meinst, oder? Aus Ohio habe ich zufälligerweise auch Prospekte. Vielleicht finde ich dazu etwas. Ich werde mich nochmals melden.

Ich habe irgendwo hier im Haus einen aktuellen Prospekt zu Auroro, den müsste ich aber erst suchen. Sage einfach mal kurz hier Bescheid, welches Aurora du meinst.

ich habe in meinem Reiseführer (Stand 2004) eine Info, das es in Aurora ein Sea World geben soll. Auf der offiziellen Homepage habe ich aber nichts darüber gefunden. Gibt es den Park evtl. nicht mehr?
Wir planen nämlich gerade unsere diesjährige USA-Reise (Oktober).
