Private. PHONE: 250-949-6753. LOCATION: Bear Cove Rd; Port Hardy, BC (CN) V0N 2P0. 1.8 km e off Hwy 19 via Bear Cove Rd; 2.5 km w from Prince Rupert Ferry Terminal. A fairly primitive campground with sites situated amongst lush rain forest. Washrooms are located in older trailer unit and well maintained. This is the type of campground for those who don't mind "roughing" it a bit. TERMS: camp tax 7.0%, state tax 7%, pets allowed, check-in after noon, check-out by noon, reservations required, deposit required, four days cancellation notice required, Rental Walk-in tent sites, $7. FACILITY: 73 total sites, 57 RV sites, 14 tent sites, four acres, snack bar, hot showers available, flush toilets available, 20 amp max service available, No accessibility. SERVICES: guest laundry (fee). RECREATION: dock (fee), boat ramp, fishing. CARDS: MC, VI. OPEN: May 1-Oct 15.

Private. PHONE: 250-949-8111. LOCATION: 8080 Goodspeed Rd; Port Hardy, BC (CN) V0N 2P0. On Hwy 19, 1 km n from Bear Cove Rd (BC Ferries jct). Just off the main highway. All sites are open and sit on level grass adjacent to Estuary Wildlife Sanctuary and River. Complimentary firewood. Several rabbits can be seen freely roaming the campground. Small convenience store. TERMS: extra person $2, camp tax 7.0%, state tax 7%, pets allowed, check-in after noon, check-out by noon, weekly rental plan available, monthly rental plan available, reservations required, four days cancellation notice required. FACILITY: 76 total sites, 76 RV sites, six acres, hot showers available, flush toilets available, fixed dump station, phone hookups, TV hookups. SERVICES: guest laundry (fee). RECREATION: fish freezing, barbecue area, fire pits, firewood, picnic tables. CARDS: MC, VI.
Ich war mal auf einem der Campgrounds. Die sind natürlich darauf eingerichtet, dass die Leute von der Fähre erst spät kommen und haben sozusagen schon auf uns gewartet.
Für August würde ich dir eine Reservierung empfehlen, zumal du die Fähre ja für einen festen Tag gebucht hast.
In Prinse Rupert war es übrigens erlaubt, auf dem Parkplatz an der Fähre zu übernachten. Ob das auch für Port Hardy gilt, kannst du sicher bei B.C.-Ferrys erfahren.
