Ich mußte auch erst nachschauen.
Vollkasko und Reiseunfallversicherung sind enhalten. Außerdem Online Fraud Protection, Garantieerweiterung für mit der Karte gekaufte Produkte und dann halt dieses Bonusprogramm, dass sich natürlich etwas mehr an Hilton anlehnt.
Man erhält also diese Bonuspunkte für jeden Umsatz, den man damit tätigt und kann diese dann irgendwann "hiltonnah" (Hotel, Disney, Mietwagen oder irgendsowas) verjubeln. Wir haben's schon mal mit nem Hilton in Houston gemacht und es hat gut funktioniert.

Und wie gesagt, Karte und Teilnahme am Bonusprogramm ist kostenlos.

Leider sind alle amerikanischen Kreditkarten für uns Europäer ohne SSN unerreichbar. Die Starwood Amex ist IMO noch besser als die Hilton.


Grundsätzlich ist es aber so, daß da, wo in USA Platin draufsteht, nicht immer auch Platin drin ist, jedenfalls nicht verglichen mit den Karten in Deutschland. Will sagen, die haben ein eingeschränktes Angebot an Zusatzleistungen. Das Wort "Platin" wird drüben recht inflationär verwendet.

Die deutsche Platin-Amex hat z.B. den Priority Pass inkludiert, welcher alleine schon einen Wert von $399 hat und damit -bei einem günstigeren Eurokurs- die Kartengebühr von 400 EUR schon wieder einspielt. Nur muß man den PP auch wirklich ausnutzen, also ca. 20-30 Mal im Jahr eine Lounge aussuchen und dort kräftig reinleuchten, um auf seinen Einsatz zu kommen.
